Did You Know?
As a private, non-profit shelter with no national affiliations, we rely almost exclusively on fundraising and donations from the community to run our shelter. Because we don’t receive any public funding or grants, it’s the generous support of our community that allows us to continue to house, care for and find homes for the 3,000 cats, dogs, rabbits and other companion animals we help every year!

Like Bailey, the young yellow lab that was found as an emaciated stray dragging the largest chain our staff had ever seen. Bailey cowered in his kennel while at the shelter and didn’t seem to know how to play with his toys, indicating that he had suffered severe neglect and possible abuse. A year and a half later, Bailey is safe and happy at home with his adoptive mother, Ruth, where he loves playing with people and other dogs, has graduated from Level II Obedience and gets to sleep on the couch every night.

On behalf of Bailey and other ARL success stories, thank you for your continued support!
